The YOKOHAMA BluEarth-1 Tyre and YOKOHAMA as a company has been awarded the prestigious Environmental award at the ‘Pneu Expo’ -Tyre Trade Fair, in Lyon this week.

The ‘Pneu Expo Innovations Trophy’ under its ‘Actions Environnmentales’ (Environmental Actions) award recognises the efforts and commitment towards more environmentally friendly practices and products and global environmental actions by automotive manufacturers, Tyre specialists and service providers. At the presentation of awards, the YOKOHAMA BluEarth-1 Tyre was distinguished as noteworthy and outright winner in the Environmental category. The Jury was composed of journalists working in the automotive press as well as members of the AJTE (EuropeanTechnical Association of Journalists).

The consecution of this award pays tribute to the Japanese Tyre manufacturer YOKOHAMA for its continuous development of environmentally and socially friendly products and processes that protect the environment.

Representatives of YOKOHAMA France, including its President Patrick Lhoste and Commercial Director Dominique Stempfel were present at the award ceremony that took place on the opening day of the Pneu Expo and in presence of Raymond Durand, FIA New Energies 2012 World Champion in the hybrid category on a Toyota Auris equipped with YOKOHAMA’s BluEarth-1 Tyre.
