Feature

  • 1) There are three layers of multi-layer sipes, in a new configuration. These complex multilayer sipes support each other and prevent the blocks from bending in to each other. In addition, the high-density arrangement means that each multi-layer sipe is nearly 30% longer on tyre surface, which delivers an excellent edge-effect on snowy and icy roads.
  • 2) Deliver optimum performance even without a break-in period.
  • 3) The triple-belted blocks with a large, wide, centralized block design improve the braking stability as well as the performance on wet, dry and icy road surfaces.
  • 4) The newly-designed slush grooves deliver excellent drainage performance in slushy, snowy and wet road conditions due to their varied width groove design from the centre to the outer side.

The layer of water above the ice is the biggest contributor to loss of traction. It causes “micro hydroplaning“ on icy surfaces. A traditional rubber rides on the surface water because the thickness of the layer of water in the -6 to 0°C zone becomes more than the normal undulations of the tyre surface can manage to work effectively.

* 1 = Absorptive Silica (carbon) is not the same as the silica (carbon) used for polymer reinforcement. The molecular type is (almost) the same but the size of the absortive silica particle is much larger than that of regular silica. This is included in order to absorb the film of water.
* 2 = The quantity of these materials within each tyre (215/60R16 95Q).
