German Formula 3 - 2009 Oschersleben

Van Amersfoort Racing added to its 2009 success the final rounds of the 2009 season in Oschersleben, Germany, on 16-18 October.
Laurens Vanthoor, who secured the 2009 title at round 13 in Nürburgring, secured another victory for the team in race one. Zettl Sportline’s Markus Pommer claimed second with Vanthoor’s team-mate Stef Dusseldorp third. After an outstanding season, Dusseldorp secured the 2009 rookie title for nVan Amersfoort Racing behind-the-wheel of his Dallara F307 Mercedes.
After taking the lead at the start of race two, Tom Dillmann managed to pull away during the early stages and drove straight to the chequered flag, securing victory ahead Vanthoor, who claimed second. Harald Schlegelmilch, who was currently running third, was given a 120-second penalty, promoting Dusseldorp to third. Schlegelmilch crossed the line 10th.
“I was very lucky this weekend and I am really happy to have won the 2009 rookie title,” said Dusseldorp. “I had to fight for third position but managed to keep it and secure the title. I had a great season this year and I have to thank the team for all their support.”
