STTC - Jyllandsringen race report

James Thompson claimed victory in round 13 of the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup, held at Jyllandsringen, Denmark, on 4-5 September 2010.

After qualifying second for race one Thompson had a strong start and managed to pass pole-sitter Robert Dahlgren by the end of the first lap. Thompson kept the lead to claim the race victory 3.081 seconds ahead of BMW’s Richard Göransson, while Dahlgren crossed the finish line third to complete the podium.

BMW’s Thed Björk claimed his first victory since 2008 after leading the race from start to finish. His team-mate Robert Schlünssen put in a good fight to cross the finish line second just 0.660 seconds behind the race winner, followed by Casper Elgaard, who finished third.

Rounds 15 and 16 of the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup will take place at the Ring Knutstorp, Sweden, on 17-18 September 2010 before travelling to Mantorp Park for the season finale.
