16 Aug 10
SEAT’s Dick Sahlén secured his first Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) victory in round 12 of the championship, held at Karlskoga, Sweden, on 13-14 August 2010.
Saturday’s qualifying was dominated by Volkswagen, with Fredrik Ekblom setting the fastest lap time of 1:07.176, followed by his team-mate Patrick Olsson just 0.107 seconds behind. After starting on pole, Ekblom took the lead of the race and maintained it until the chequered flag. Olsson finished second, followed by BMW’s Thed Björk third.
Sahlén started race two on pole thanks to the reversed top eight grid and managed to keep Mattias Andersson and Björk behind for the entire race. The chasing duo eventually crossed the finish line second and third respectively.
Rounds 13 and 14 of the Swedish Touring Car Championship will take place at Jyllandsringen, Sweden, on 5 September 2010.
